From regular home checks and arrival preparation to cleaning, grocery stock-ups and practical local support, our goal is simple: to give you peace of mind, and to ensure your home is cared for and ready for you whenever you arrive.
We believe in a personal approach. No call centres, no complicated contracts, just a friendly, reliable local contact who treats your home with the same care and attention as if it were their own.

Please note: current service area includes Lourinhã, Peniche, Óbidos, Bombarral, Caldas da Rainha, Foz do Arelho, São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré and Alcobaça, as well as nearby inland areas and smaller towns. We hope to expand our service area soon!

Hi, I'm Erika, founder of Coastal Home Companion. Originally from the UK, I've called Portugal home for the past five years, spending my first two years in Lisbon before settling on the beautiful Silver Coast, where I've lived in Alcobaça for the last three years.
As a mum to two young children born in Portugal, I've become deeply connected to the local community and love helping others feel at home here too. I speak English (native), Portuguese and Spanish, allowing me to support both international and local property owners with ease.
Alongside running Coastal Home Companion, I work professionally in the software and fintech industry. My background also includes several years in hospitality, where I developed a passion for customer service, attention to detail and creating welcoming experiences for others.
Coastal Home Companion combines those experiences with my love for the Silver Coast, offering homeowners a trusted local contact to look after their property when they can't be here themselves.
